catherineg
Hi, I'm on day 12 and am still extremely bloated and uncomfortable. I had this problem before the whole30, and now while on it. I am taking Renew Life Ultimate Flora Womens Complete 90 Billion Probiotic. I'm confused as to whether I should add a digestive enzyme or if that is enough. I've tried to do research and read different boards but I'm still not clear. Can anyone let me know?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 17, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 17, 2014 Yep. Probiotics are a long-term solution and digestive enzymes are a quick, short-term solution.
catherineg
Can you suggest a couple of brands of digestive enzymes and point me in the right direction?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 20, 2014 I think one or two are mentioned in this article: http://whole9life.com/2012/09/digestive-enzymes-101/ We don't recommend specific brands. We used to and the vendor changed the formula of that one to make it non-compliant after several years of being a great choice. You might go on Amazon.com and use the functionality there to look at ingredients lists to find any that would make the cut.
JMW
You may want to consider stopping the Probiotic supplement to see if your bloating improves. Some supplements are very potent. I've found that they can actually aggravate my stomach. Disclaimer - I have celiac disease and have been GF for 10yrs.
