conniebug
Hi All! I'm roasting two chickens this weekend and makings stock from the bones. I thought I'd also make some beef bone broth. I had planned on asking for some bones (not sure they will even sell them) to make this. My store does not carry organic or grass fed meat. Would it still be worth it to make bone broth? Thanks! missmary
The quality of your ingredients does matter, but I think it would be worth it to make bone broth, even if the best bones you can get are not organic. I usually put chicken skin and fat and muscle meat in my broth along with the bones--you strain it out but it adds richness and flavor. If I were making broth with conventionally raised meat I would skip the fatty bits and just put bones with maybe a little meat still on them, to avoid the toxins that are stored in the fat of these animals.
