AmberAIPLowHist
Tomorrow I start day 10 of the Low-Histamine, Auto-immune protocol. Question: I've read on a few different websites that avocados, mushrooms and pumpkin trigger histamine response, yet they are allowed on the low histamine shopping list. Are you sure they are all allowed? I've been eating plenty of them and will want to stop if I need to. Here's one of those websites: http://www.livestrong.com/article/106451-foods-trigger-histamine-response/ Thanks!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 29, 2014 That is a good question. I thought it might simply be something commonly seen - disagreement among "authorities," but one of the Hartwig's sources warns of these too. I am sending a question to the Moxie Boss. In the meantime, you might want to avoid these foods. Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 29, 2014 So I got word back from Melissa Hartwig: Tom, Different sites list different foods. Mushrooms can probably go grey, but pumpkin and avocado aren't high-histamine foods, just foods that may release histamine when eaten. I'll do a little more research... please let them know that we're looking into it and if changes are made, we'll announce it on social media. Thanks!
