joybedford
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with this condition yesterday after suffering jaw pain since Monday and clicking of my jaw for a few weeks. I also have fibromyalgia, IBS and gastritis. As I can't take ibuprofen due to the gastritis my GP has prescribed a stronger analgesic, not whole 30 but I am in a lot of pain. I have been told to eat a soft diet and rest my jaw. I am day 8 whole 30 and am committed to completing it but I am struggling to get in enough calories. The only thing I can really eat is soup and scrambled egg but my total calories for yesterday was less than 1000. My GP suggested protein powders but obviously I can't have these. Any suggestions on soft compliant foods.
missmary
You have to give yourself more food. Even if it doesn't seem "Breakfasty" to eat pureed savory soup at the beginning of the day, it is still better to have pureed soup than to try to get through the morning fueled by a single banana. Eat more soup. Eat scrambled eggs if those work. And keep in mind that you need to keep feeding yourself consistently throughout the day. I know if I end up eating less than I need at one meal, I still feel that deficit several meals later. Eat more. Lots of people love this silky zucchini soup http://theclothesmakethegirl.com/2012/11/05/silky-gingered-zucchini-soup/ Carrot Ginger soup is a favorite in my family (sub bone broth for the veggie broth for more nutrition) http://www.splendidtable.org/recipes/carrot-ginger-soup I bet veggie mashes would work well too. http://nomnompaleo.com/post/4157757611/cauliflower-carrot-and-parsnip-puree On the analgesic: if you doctor is prescribing this, it is allowed on the whole30. Take pain meds if you need them.
