Rebemac
My boyfriend and I just completed our Whole30 and I'd like for us to keep eating more or less like this, but he lost 7 lbs in the past 30 days and he didn't have an extra 7 lbs to begin with. He used to be a bike racer, and although he's not that active now, he still has an extremely high metabolism. He ate A LOT during this program, but still lost weight. How do you keep weight on if you don't want to lose it? He was eating four meals a day and they were fairly big portions. He usually went through two dozen eggs a week, about 14 avocados, I don't even know how many pounds of meat, a couple servings of starchy vegetables a day. He was eating a lot more nuts than your advised to as well. Are there certain foods he should try to eat more of to keep from losing anymore weight? missmary
Keep in mind that even people at a healthy weight may have inflammation that they lose when they start eating whole30--losing that inflammation results in a lower number on the scale, but it isn't a bad thing. If he continues eating this way, his weight may stabilize as there isn't so much inflammation to lose anymore. That said, some people still struggle to maintain. Rebemac
I know kirkor! But when you're already skinny it's not so enviable. His cheeks are starting to look sunken in. Thanks for the links missmary. He is definitely a stressed, anxious type who works about 70 hours a week which I read in one of those links can alter adrenal and anabolic hormone levels, so mix that with an already super high metabolism... He is working on the stress and anxiety, but that's not going to change overnight. I'll try to get him eating more sweet and white potatoes, and add in some brown rice since we're done our official Whole30. He ate WAY too much sugar before doing this which is what kept his weight normal, but messed with everything else.
