Helen67
Hi....is Advocado in a tube considered ok or is it considered processed?
GFChris
If the tube contains only avocado, you're fine. If it contains additional ingredients (I'm guessing some kind of preservative would be needed), you'd need to ensure that all ingredients are Whole30 compliant. missmary
The whole30 doesn't have a rule that says "no processed food". The whole30 is about ingredients, for the most part, so avocado in a tube could be compliant, just like wholly guacamole (which is basically avocado in a plastic cup or squeeze pack) is compliant. Doing a little research, I'm finding avofresh, avocado in a tube to contain xanthian gum (415) and sodium alginate (401). Both of these are permitted. I do want to be clear though: avocado in a tube is processed food. You can have it on the whole30, but it would be better if you had a regular avocado that came in the form of an avocado.
