LiftingLafond
To get away from my usual habitual Winter drinks of coco and cider, I figured I would jump on the popularity of bone broth. I am making 2 Cornish game hens for dinner this evening and I was wondering if anybody has made bone broth using this little guys? I often hear of beef and chicken, but I figure why waste the left overs of these great little birds? Anybody have any tips or recipes? If not, I will experiment and let you all know how it goes! Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 4, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 4, 2014 The game hen bones should work alright for bone broth...but they might be a bit small to use just their bones. I would probably add them to other bones to do a broth. Definitely don't waste them, if you don't have enough, just throw them in a bag in the freezer and add to it until you get enough. Physibeth
If you can find frozen chicken feet (and can get over how grizzly they look) they are great to add to whatever chicken bones you have for broth. Makes it much richer.
A_Whole_New_Me
I actually have a few cornish game hen carcasses in the freezer waiting for more to fill up the stock pot. They make good stock, but it's not very strong & tastes better (in my opinion) if you add additional ingredients.
