megancatwood
I didn't see this question when I scrolled through, but if it's on hereby apologize for the repeat! Anyway, I have this cashew "cheese" I like to make that has Whole30 approved ingredients. Except for the agar flakes--are those compliant? Thank you! Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 31, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 31, 2014 Hi there, Agar would be considered compliant as it is a type of gelatin derived from sea vegetables. However the cashew "cheese" could definitely be considered "sex with your pants on" (ie, creating non compliant items with compliant ingredients). I would suggest perhaps just eating the cashews and saving your cashew "cheese" for life after your Whole30. Another moderator can weigh in if I'm incorrect or possibly miscontruing what cashew cheese is.
megancatwood
Thank you! I wondered about that. I've been dairy free for forever because I have an allergy and have used this recipe a lot. It's all veggies and all the stuff is compliant so I wasn't thinking of it as replacing--but of course it is. That makes sense. Thanks again!
