MegD78
I know that 3 squares is highly, highly encouraged here, mainly to keep hormones running smoothly, right? I'm having a hard time (especially on days that I don't work out) on getting M1 in. On those days, I find that I usually don't get hungry until around 12-1PM, which according to Marks Daily Apple, suggests that I'm "fat adapted" (although, I don't necessarily think that this is the case). On days that I WOD (9AM, 4-5 days a week), I've found that I'm grabbing 2-3 hardboiled eggs, but then don't eat again until lunch. I eat a TON of veggies for my other meals, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on nutrients. I would like to lose a few pounds, and am not as lean as I would like to be. How detrimental is it to delay my first meal? Also, if I feel like I'm recovering okay, can I skip my post wod snack?
Tina R
Do you drink coffee in the morning? Coffee is an appetite suppressant. If you drink coffee then try and either skip it for a few days or wait until your first meal to drink coffee. You might find that you are hungry when you don't drink coffee first thing in the morning. Maybe a moderator can give you some more info about being fat adapted. Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 5, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 5, 2015 Hi Meg, I'm not sure that your lack of hunger is a clue to being fat adapted. More than likely it's a clue to having out of balance hormones. Eating within 1 hour of waking is extremely important in getting your hunger cues back in line. Create a template meal for breakfast whether you are hungry for it or not and eat it within 1 hour of waking. If you can't get all the way through it, pack it up and take it with you and eat it as soon as you feel you are able to. This should help your body learn that when you get up in the morning is the time to turn all the systems on for the day. Noon is too late and can affect your hormones, weight, digestion, sleep etc.
