GlennR
Anyone tried this for straining the solids from your homemade ghee?
praxisproject
I don't make my own ghee, but it's made from nylon. Not sure whether it would hold up to the heat?
Jenn1270
I just use an old cheese cloth I keep in the kitchen for such things. I keep in the freezer after I wash it, that way it kills any micro bacteria hanging around, and it doesn't freeze solid, it's ready to use immediately. tomservo
Honestly just buy some cheese cloth. It's cheap, reusable and does the same thing as what you linked to.
GlennR
Update: a nut milk bag works perfectly fine!
ItsTime
Saw this post late but...... I too use a nut bag doubled up to strain my ghee and worked great!
Becca Lights The Sky
Anyone ever try coffee filters?
GlennR
Anyone ever try coffee filters? I've tried that as well (the reusable wire mesh kind). Some of the brown bits got through, so I had to run it again through the nut bag.
lillivewire87
I typically strain through a regular sieve and then I strain a second time through my Nut Bag. Works great!
lauriem1966
I have because I didn't have cheesecloth. I do think cheese cloth would be better though.
KeeS
I use a cheesecloth folded over a few times. I've heard the coffee filters were harder to handle.
