MeadowLily
I loathe baking. Baking from scratch reaffirms that I cannot stand cake and frosting. Making one was a horrible experience and one I plan to never, ever repeat.
MeadowLily
Today is a giant clean slate. This translates into giving away all of my pink clothes. I'm Ugly In Pink. I've never liked pink and look just awful in pink. I can do something right now about my issues with pink.
MeadowLily
Kvetching about reality is a soul-crushing activity. Limits suck but limits are real. Reality is real. Due to health issues I can give up sugar gracefully.

JenX
Today I actually took the 2 minutes and added a Post-Workout snack in after my workout/before my Meal 1. it wasn't much, 1 hb egg white and 4 bites of yam, but it was enough. And I feel better for it!
MeadowLily
Shut off the inner critic. No amount of weight loss can fix stinkin' thinkin'...only whole foods can do that.
MeadowLily
Thrill eating is not necessary for survival. It's an activity of using food for pure entertainment with play foods.
MeadowLily
After a Whole 30 days, I developed my own positive food management plan. One size does not fit all. Whole 30 is not cookie cutter. We are encouraged to develop our own identitites and plan. I can remain true to myself.
MeadowLily
I don't have to worry about predators like my ancestors did. The grocery store is full of play foods. Stay around the outside edges of the store and you'll find everything you need without the roar of the Sugar Carb Dragon breathing down your neck. MeadowLily
“Weight loss does not make people happy. Or peaceful. Being thin does not address the emptiness that has no shape or weight or name. Even a wildly successful diet is a colossal failure because inside the new body is the same sinking heart.”― Geneen Roth

MeadowLily
I eat the good stuff. Fish, olives, guacamole, kale, spinach, spring greens, MacNut Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, free range eggs, berries, beef, bison, wild game and fowl. Losing weight on a "diet" does not cost much. Eating healthy does. Eat better. Do it anyway. Give up drive-thrus, pizzas, donuts, fancy schmancy coffee drinks and even Paleo snacks....you can afford it. klassyart
I've learned I don't need Paleo snacks. PreW30 I made crackers all the time with almond flour and always had my homemade larabars on hand. Don't need them any more. Will use up all my dates and give the bars to my daughter and DIL who love them.
MeadowLily
Getting enough protein is important and should not be overlooked. Eating less cake when you used to eat alot of cake will help you lose weight but it won't make you feel or look good. Eating protein and roasted vegetables when you used to eat cake....will. klassyart
Iamsoproud of myself! I got stuck in town much longer than expected (at the Apple Store, no less) and went out to find something as close to W30 as I could. Looking for a Subway where I was just going to get a plain salad, I passed a grocery store and thought Aha! Went in and made my own salad complete with a few strawberries and blueberries ford dessert, oil and vinegar dressing and it was only $4! Yay! I will definitely do that more often from now on that I'm done with my W30 but still am continuing on without getting too hung up on a bit of added sugar here or there. Yay! Again. ThyPeace
Today I came home rather than going back to the office. Which led to far healthier snack choices. ThyPeace, supper at 9:30 is always hard. But at least the house has apples rather than the caramel corn that's stalking me in the office.
