GlennR
Anyone given any thought to putting Whole30 food in your disaster kits? I live in California -- earthquake country -- and like a lot of people, I have a stash of emergency supplies for when the big one hits. But my food is all Army MREs (meals, ready to eat): convenient, very long-lasting but definitely noncompliant. Would be great to swap them out with healthier fare that can stand a long time on the shelf. So: freeze-dried foods? canned everything? Anyone actually done this? MeadowLily
Glenn, I have a survival kit in the trunk of my car. I've completed a survival and avalanche training. We had a bunch of creepy protein bars that were loaded to the gills with sugar. I threw those out. I've replaced them with venison/beef/bison homemade jerky. We've been prepared for years, Glenn. There's a swarm right now.
Tina R
Freeze dried fruits and veggies are awesome. You can make your own meals in a jar or bag if you live in CA. Much better than Mountain House which has way too much salt for me.
