sammousse
I'm starting my second Whole30 tomorrow and want to be prepared for hectic post workout times (I work from home and squeeze in a Crossfit workout and then have to get right back to my desk)--so I've found that a quick "shake" helps my schedule. Is the following acceptable a couple times a week? 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin 1/4 cup coconut milk 1/2 cup coconut water 1/2 cup pasteurized, organic egg white Ice pumpkin pie spice (I usually add Stevia, but can skip for Whole30) Thoughts? Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 18, 2015 Hi Sammousse, We really don't recommend smoothies. You get so much less value from drinking your food than chewing it. I know you're busy but in the time it takes you to blend this smoothie after your workout, you could grab a piece of cooked chicken and a sweet potato (you can bake both in the oven one evening so they are ready to go after your workout). GFChris
In addition to Ladyshanny's point, the post WO recommendation is protein and carb, no fat. Coconut milk is a fat on a Whole30.
sammousse
Ok, ok. I will comply with the rules! Can't blame a girl for trying! And thanks GFChris--you're right re: fat. I baked sweet potatoes last night--will stay on the chew-able foods.
