mlmurphy
I am at Day 15 with no cheats. I was really hoping that this would help my sleeping problem. I wake up 4 hours after I go to sleep, with my mind thinking of work issues, etc. I tried the CALM product for 3 days and did not see any difference. Does anyone out there have this same problem and what suggestions would you have?

Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2015 I've moved this to the Troubleshooting section and deleted your duplicate post that was placed in Whole30 with medical restrictions.
Carlaccini
Are you able to list a couple days worth of meals? It might help us trouble shoot. But some off the cuff ideas 1) are you drinking enough? 2) starchy veg. Are you eating any? Some people report that having sweet potato during meal 3 will help with a good night sleep 3) Nuts. This is a personal observation - but I find consuming nuts will cause my sleep to be poor and interrupted..
Moderators LadyM Posted January 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2015 What Carla said. And sometimes it takes a bit more time--the natural calm and the dietary changes--to take effect. Also, how is your sleep hygiene? Is your bedroom cool, dark, and free of electronics and anything else that makes noise or gives off light? Even the tiniest pinprick of light can disrupt hormones while you sleep. I heartily recommend black-out curtains. They've changed my life. Also, do you avoid screen time an hour or two before bed? Quit caffeine of all varieties by noon? Exercise earlier in the day? These are but a handful of the variables that could be affecting you. . . . mlmurphy
Thanks. I will continue to use the Calm and the other suggestions you mentioned. The only caffeine that I am having is one cup of tea in the morning. I am going to cover up the clock and cable box in our room and see if that helps. I will also include a sweet potato at night. I was surprised to read about the nuts. I have been eating those at least once a day. Do you think consuming them with either meal 1 or 2 would be okay and just make sure not to eat them at meal 3? Thanks again.
