ambnille07
I'm on day 19, and things are going great except for 2 things. Apologies in advance for the TMI. I haven't had a solid BM since I started my Whole30. It's starting to get a little unnerving. Is this because of the added veggies (i.e. Fiber)? Any fixes? I'm also taking Natural Calm and MegaFlora probiotic at night, and a RainbowLight Multivitamin, Vit. D, and Omega-3 Fish oil in the morning. Also, all of the sudden, I've been having some serious heartburn. I've dealt with GERD for years by simply adjusting my diet to meet my needs, but things that didn't give me heartburn at first (as in at first in my Whole30) are now causing it. Any thoughts? Carlaccini
There are some possibilities: You may need to take Hcl supplement (because of low stomach acid which causes heartburn) You may need to drink more You also may need to consume some starchy veggies. Bigrig737
I was having the same poo issues. I added a bit of squash and/or sweet potatoes and it went away immediately. Hope this helps you.
dlocs1021
You also probably do not need the probiotics anymore if you have significantly increased your veg and taken out processed food. Also with whole 30 because of the plethora of nutrients you are getting from both the variety and amount of veg you should not need to supplement with additional vitamins. In the case of vitamins more is not always better and lots of vitamins in the multi is you are over your daily amount you wind up peeing it out anyway. AmyS
Many people report lots of good results from Natural Calm, but I can't take it without the effects you describe. Just a possibility.
ambnille07
Dealing with some heartburn again this morning after finishing my breakfast. I noticed the heartburn hit after taking the fish oil/vit. d. I take the Vit. D to help keep depression symptoms at bay and because I work in an office, so I don't get a lot of natural sunlight. Should I maybe cut out the fish oil? I started taking the Omega-3s to help with ADHD symptoms. I decided to skip out on the Natural Calm and probiotic last night, and although I didn't sleep as well, my stomach isn't making me run from my office. Victory there! I'll look into Hcl supplements. It's very possible I need them (was diagnosed with H. Pylori at 18 which causes my GERD).
