tplummer
Hi Everyone, my name is Tim and I started the Whole 30 5 days ago. Everything was going great, new energy great food, feeling good. A few cravings but I can deal with them. But today, I'm very cranky and really hungry. I'm even getting hunger pangs after I eat a significant amount. Any thoughts on this? I cant stop scowling! KelleyGC
Drink plenty of water and worst case have a small salad or something healthy to help push you through. Good luck and don't give up!!!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 21, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2015 This is what we refer to as "Kill All The Things!" stage and you are pretty much right on track. This is the time when your body is realizing that it doesn't have those quickly accessible carbs from sugar and grains to use for energy and it is pissed! It goes away after a few days. As far as the hunger goes, if you are legitimately hungry then you need to eat. Try to avoid "snacking" on fruits and nuts/nut butters. Ask yourself if you are hungry enough to eat something bland like steamed fish and brocoli and if the answer is yes, then eat a balanced meal of protein, fat and veggies. If not a whole meal, a mini one. We humans aren't static and therefore our hunger can fluctuate even though "on paper" we've eaten plenty. Paper doesn't translate into real world application. I've linked the timeline and the meal planning template for you just in case you haven't seen them. http://whole30.com/2013/08/revised-timeline/ http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf Keep us posted on how you go! praxisproject
I find extra starches help a little with the Kill All The Things. Takes me down to maybe Kill 90% Of The Things The good part is, this doesn't last long, you'll be feeling your normal self soon. Don't give in to your Sugar Dragon and try to avoid fighting with loved ones.
