Anitra Parks
I was looking at the ingredients in the mimic cream (cashew and almond milk) I was going to use it in my coffee when I seen sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)... Is it going to affect my whole 30? I am on Day 13 and want to make sure before having some. Thanks!
Susan W
It's basically a salt, but what that means, I don't know. No clue if it's legal or not. Here is a recipe to make your own...I always hesitate to use anything with non food ingredients in it. http://talronnen.ca/video/?video=
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 26, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2012 The baking soda is not a problem, but the MimicCreme is. That product is a SWYPO violation and probably a processed food violation too. It is not okay to use paleofied versions of foods so that you can keep eating like you did before. The Whole30 is a time to learn to eat differently.
Anitra Parks
... Thanks! I was hoping it wasn't a SWYPO.... I use to really enjoy one cup a coffee a day (decaf) but it was still a nice realaxing part of the day... I strongly dislike black coffee but love it with milk and sugar.... Guess that means no coffee for 30 days or more.
