pacumeni
In my church, we partake of a small piece of bread as part of the service. Like the size of my thumbnail. Does that mean, effectively, I need to start over my Whole30? It happens every Sunday.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 24, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2015 No, you don't have to start over for communion. Religious practice outweighs Whole30. Easiest way to find out information on the forum is to google "whole30 + communion" (for example) and you'll get lots of links.
kmdchuckles
If it makes you feel better, I was a minister of communion at my Catholic Church yesterday and got stuck with an entire glass of communion wine. I'm going with the it's Jesus' blood! The whole situation caught me off guard. Life happens, church happens.
salexander421
I struggled at first with wether to do communion during whole30 or not. But for me, even though it's just a symbolic thing and has nothing to do with my salvation, I don't want to make anything an idol above God. Fortunately our church is full of gluten intolerant people (including my pastor) so they offer peices of gluten free crackers for communion. I've taken communion every Sunday and still feel like I'm seeing results. I definitely think it's a persinal choice and I'm happy the program doesn't exclude those of us that choose not to give up religious practices
