Guest Andria
Well, the need to snack is generally an indication that your previous meal(s) was/were too small. Your lunch and dinner look good, since you are including up to 2 palms of protein, but your breakfast is quite low on protein. There's a thread that gives you the visual of how many eggs is considered a serving(it's the number you can hold in your hand). I would say three eggs would be the minimum serving size for a small female. Many people on this board would attest to the fact that what you eat for breakfast sets you up for the entire day. Make your breakfast as large, if not larger than your M2 and M3, especially by increasing the protein. Personally, if I have not eaten enough for breakfast I am snacking and craving for the rest of the day. It is like I can't make up for it. If you do snack, make it a mini-meal of protein, veg and fat. Do not use fruit and nuts - this will likely sustain your cravings.. Follow the template for all your meals and snacks. However, your goal should ultimately be to get away from the snacks (unless they a pre and post workout mini-meals). You should not be drinking *a lot of* coconut water. That contains quite a bit of sugar (15g in a typical single serving carton) and will only feed your cravings. You definitely want to drop that. Coconut water should only be used after an intense workout that involved a lot of sweating. Your water intake should be at least 1/2 your BW in oz. Unfortunately, if your sleep is poor and your dragging and tired the next day that will contribute to your cravings, as well. Can you find some time for yourself to wind down before bed? Drink a cup of tea, read or take a bath.
Anna2264
Andria! Thank you so so much for your reply! I will definitely add more protein to my meal1! Ill ditch the coconut water and the snacking and see how that goes! ☺️ Only 6 days left i can do this! I think you hit the spot with my night habits i usually go to bed right after watching tv and i have my phone with me until i close my eyes and go to sleep and that certainly is not the best thing to do! Ill have to get organized and create a good schedule so that i can relax and unwind before i go to bed no electronics of anykind at least an hour before bed time for me

Will it get used to? It is fine to eat that many eggs in a day. You might not need the half an avocado when you eat enough eggs for protein in the morning as eggs contain a good deal of fat on their own. I usually eat 4 eggs with sauteed greens for my first meal and it keeps me full until meal 2 or my post workout meal (whichever comes first). Some people choose to have another protein with their morning eggs and then have less. Experiment and see what works best for you. I also see you posted this twice by accident...I'll delete the duplicate post.

Physibeth
Our recommendation for pre-meal 1 workouts is to eat something before, even if it isn't big, that contains fat and protein and little to no carbs. A handful of nuts, a hard boiled egg, even a spoon of coconut or almond butter. This is for balancing hormones and telling your body you are done fasting for the night. Post workout we recommend lean protein and starchy vegetable. I'm not super familiar with RxBar. Chicken breast and sweet potato is a good choice. Have that within 15 minutes of finishing your workout and then proceed with your day as normal. This is more about fueling faster recovery than hunger. Anna2264
rxbar is a whole30 approved bar it has 3 egg whites 1/2 a fig 8 almonds 3 dates i think coconut oil and depending on the flavour 100% chocolate and coffee for my favorites ! I was just thinking that i do eat the protein and starchy veggs but if i work out in the am have them for breakfast if i work out at 630pm i have them for dinner etc but come to think about it i eat starchy veggies with every meal! Is that too much carbs? I tried looking it up on other forums but i havent found the answer yet i guess its more about what my body needs! But i cant really read the signs just yet! I have noticed that after lunch i get kind of sleepy. I have reactive hypoglycemia and its actually very similar to the crushes i got when i ate too much sugar! The thing is i might be overdoing it with my favorite starchy veggs! Im confused i know i only have 3 days left to finish my whole30 but this is turning out to be more of a lifestyle change for me! I really want to continue with the program maybe not as strict but following it most of the time is key for me right now i want to get to know my body and what works best for me and to learn to eat accordantly to my body s needs! But im scared im overeating or earing too little of some things and that that might make my goals harder to achieve! Todays meals so far Woke up at 6:00am today couldnt make it to the gym so far and had to take my kids to school and then hit the supermarket before coming home and having breakfast so i ended up eating by 845 Meal1 ~ 2 fried eggs some steak a palm size a handfull of greans ( lettuce + spinach) about 1 beet roasted and some strawberries Meal 2 ~ was puerco pibil ( stupideasypaleos recipe w30 friendly) about two palm sizes another handfull of greens same ones some guac about half an avocado maybe a little more 1 small japanese sweet potato But i am noticing i always icluding the starchy veggs i dont know if ill make it to the gym today but i guess for that amount of carbs i better do insanity at home if i dont make it to the gym and so meal 3 wont have carbs? Oh this is complicated hahaha i know its worth the trouble and its important for me to get to knowing just what works for me but i just have so many questions and doubts and fear to do something wrong so sorry for all the obnoxious questions! I appreciate it very much though
Carlaccini
Hi there, I wouldn't worry about the starchy veg consumption too much. Especially on the days you do work out. I am one of those people who is not terribly active outside of long walks a few times a week (recovering from a knee/hip injury) but I do need to eat more starchy veggies than most to keep my hormones in a happy place. (read minimum of 1 meal a day but included in 2 meals is ideal) All this starchy veg and I still managed to lose 35lbs in a 7 month time frame.
