Elizabeth82
Hello! I am preparing to begin my first Whole30 in the morning and am wondering if the So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk is Whole30 compliant.Thank you!
GFChris
You'd need to read the ingredients list to check for 100% compliant ingredients.
missmary
nope. Here's how I figured it out. First, paste the name of what you are looking for into google. Add "ingredients". You get a list of ingredients (if you have this product at home you can skip that part and just look at the container). Here's what I got: Ingredients: ORGANIC COCONUT MILK (WATER, ORGANIC COCONUT CREAM), CHICORY ROOT EXTRACT, PECTIN, NATURAL VANILLA FLAVOR, ALGIN, MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE, TRICALCIUM PHOSPHATE, RICE STARCH, LOCUST BEAN GUM, LIVE CULTURES, GUAR GUM, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, GELLAN GUM, XANTHAN GUM, VITAMIN D2, VITAMIN B12. Then I scanned the list for ingredients that are not permitted on the whole30. The ones in red are not permitted (chicory root extract is a sweetener, rice is a grain). There are lots of ingredients here that I would not recommend, but those two make it off-limits for the whole30.
missmary
oops. and here is where you learn it is better not to ask someone else to check ingredients for you. I think the one above might not be the one you have? Do the ingredients on your package match mine? or is it this one?: Ingredients: ORGANIC COCONUT MILK (WATER, ORGANIC COCONUT CREAM), CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE, GUAR GUM, XANTHAN GUM, VITAMIN A ACETATE, VITAMIN D2, L-SELENOMETHIONINE (SELENIUM), ZINC OXIDE, FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12 This one is technically ok, although you can do much much better. Look for coconut milk that is just coconut milk--usually it can be found in cans.
Elizabeth82
Thanks!I Googled the ingredient list from the carton and it seems to be ok...but the list of ingredients online is different, for the same product....hence the confusion!
