Life after 1st Whole30 when there are still skin issues?

Hi :) I'm on Day 25 and I'm elated at all the positive benefits I am experiencing :) I haven't seen a huge turnaround in the healing of my skin however and I'm looking for extra advice in this area. Some background, I've always suffered from mild body acne on chest and back on and off since adolescence and as I'm getting older I am acquiring more and more cherry angiomas (I'm 35 now). I'm a healthy weight, I exercise, and there are no other medical conditions so it has been a big source of frustration for me. There is a lot of old scarring there that I was hoping would clear up but even at Day 25 I am still having new breakouts.

P:S; I've been lucky with the skin on my face but I do breakout on my neck and jawline if I'm stressed and not sleeping/eating as well as I should.

l have some specific questions about what to do post Whole30 that I hope you guys could answer.

*Do I just need more healing time and therefore do I go for a Whole60?

*I suspect that I may benefit from a low FODMAPs version. I'm highly allergic to garlic and haven't eaten it for years but I continue to eat onion, leek, etc. even though I've noticed a sensitivity to it. Do you think that this could have halted my progress significantly? (I don't have IBS symptoms though-I get silent migraines and depression)

*What impact do you think the inclusion of coffee would have on skin? I continued to drink at least 1 (max 2 a day)

I appreciate your input. TIA

Hi miemoo! Congratulations, you are on day 25! Sorry to hear, though, that you are still having skin troubles.  To answer your questions:

*Do I just need more healing time and therefore do I go for a Whole60? Yes, it is quite possible that you need more time.  Healing your gut will go a long way to help heal your acne.  Sometimes we need more than 30 days to do this. http://chriskresser.com/naturally-get-rid-of-acne-by-fixing-your-gut

*I suspect that I may benefit from a low FODMAPs version. Yes, this may help. I know you said that you have a sensitivity to to garlic, leek and onion.  Even though you do not have IBS symptoms, the fact that you have symptoms(silent migraines and depression) is a clue that you are dealing with a leaky gut. You might want to add an additional 30 days with no FODMAPS.

*What impact do you think the inclusion of coffee would have on skin? Yeah, this one is a tough one.  The general recommendation is to avoid coffee when healing a leaky gut.

My experience is limited, though, as any acne I had resolved when I eliminated dairy. Hopefully, someone with experience similar to yours can chime in with their results.

Thank you so much for your response. I think I am leaning towards a Whole60 with low FODMAPs. Oh, it's so tempting to have a little break in between so I can have a sweet, milky cup of coffee haha...not worth it though, I love the results too much.
