Day 31--Whole30 Complete...but continuing

My Whole30 is complete!  Today is day 31.  My plan is to go another 2 weeks, at least.  There are so many wins for me:  lost 14 pounds, lost an overall 9.5 inches (around 2 inches on each measurement), no mid afternoon energy crash, waking up before my alarm and feeling rested, less oily skin, no bloated belly, significantly fewer and less severe headaches, no more chronic need to clear my throat, not hungry between meals.  Writing them all down was empowering.  The sugar dragon isn't completely gone--I still have moments of really wanting a Dr Pepper or some chocolate or some sweet baked goodies.  So, I will continue for another 2 weeks and reevaluate then.

I have learned so much about myself and my relationship with food.  Reading the daily emails and going through the various exercises (journaling, visualization, self analysis, etc) has made a difference in this Whole30.  (I did my first about a year ago, but without as much commitment to staying 100% compliant, and I only made it to day 26).  These last 30 days weren't perfect, but it wasn't because of lack of effort or determination.  I didn't lie to myself, and that's huge for me!

Things to improve in the next 2 weeks:  1) less fruit--I didn't go completely overboard and feel my veggie to fruit ratio was definitely higher on veggies.  But, there's still room for improvement, especially with breakfast I mean meal 1.  2) break my habit of Pinterest searching for food ideas--I have plenty of meal ideas thanks to Whole30, NomNom Paleo, and Clothes Make the Girl.  Scanning through pictures of fancy 7-layer bars, beautiful cookies, and cheese laden whatever probably feeds my brain and emotional connection to food way more than necessary. 3) get exercise in the picture--My time is so limited, up at 5:30, chasing teenagers out of bed, off to work/drop off kids at 6:30, short lunches because of workload, home around 5:30, dinner prep for family, chauffeur duties for kids, church meetings, etc.  Somehow I've got to squeeze at least 30 minutes to get outside and move.

So...there you go...typing this all out was certainly beneficial to me.  Maybe it will encourage someone else out there. :)

Happy Whole30 Everyone

Congratulations! Also on Day 31 today, and looking to continue for another 3 weeks until my annual physical so I can see results in my bloodwork.

I am thinking about some things I can improve on as well. I've been exercising 3-4 times a week but I only lost 6 lbs. (still a great success).  But I think maybe I ate too many nuts and dried fruit.  I also monitoring my acne since it's only seemed to have gotten worse.  But oh, Pinterest! I've learned not to browse when I'm hungry, but I still do it so often!! You may be on to something here....  Thank you!

Finished my Whole30 and heading towards a Whole60 to try and accomplish my goals. Better skin, clearer eyes, improved sleep quality and more sustained energy through the day. Adding exercise to loose some of the weight I was hoping would come off.
