brittastic72
Today is my first day and I made eggs with 1/2 tbls of coconut oil, veggies, and 1/2 an avocado. I feel like the meal was very greasy and have a bit of an upset stomach. I know we are supposed to have even more fat than that at each meal? How does everyone handle that?? Thanks for you help! missmary
you should be having 1-2 "thumb-size" portions of fat in a meal. When you have eggs, those eggs may contain enough fat that you don't have to supplement, but if you want additional fat you can have some. SO....you may be overestimating how much fat is needed. Eat enough fat and protein and vegetables so that you are satiated and not hungry again for 4-5 hours. It may take some experimenting to understand how much that is for your personal context. All that said, sometimes it takes a little while to get used to eating fat with every meal. Taking digestive enzymes before meals may help while you transition. GFChris
Here is the meal template with recommended portion sizes on fats. Choose 1-2 fat sources per meal: playing with that and your protein and veg portions until you get to where your meals satiate you for 4-5 hours. Cooking oils, yes, 1-2 thumb-sizes. Everything else, the serving size varies per the template.
