Leafprint
Hi there, My favorite breakfast has been 3 cups of brussels sprouts with 3 omega eggs and 2 slices of sugar-free bacon. All of the above is cooked in the bacon fat the 2 pieces of bacon render. I am on a page where someone is telling me that I'm not following template because bacon is not a fat, but a condiment. I eat the eggs WITH the yolks and the bacon grease with the bacon. Am I not following template? That is a substantial amount of fat and I can't imagine adding any more to this dish. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Moderators LadyM Posted February 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 1, 2015 You're following the template. As you said, there is fat in the egg yolk, and yes, bacon is fat. Enjoy!
Brewer5
Bacon's a fat. In the way that you are using it, for sure. If someone was cooking it in the microwave, draining all the grease in paper towels, and then sprinkling bacon bits over something -- that may be considered a condiment. But bacon is still a great source of fat, and some protein.
Rebe_J
I agree. You describe one of my favorite meals, too. I'll have a few grape tomatoes, as well. Tasty!
