ambnille07
On 1/31, I reintroduced dairy as my first non-compliant food for the reintroduction period. After eating some cheese that morning, I had a headache within an hour, upset stomach, bloating, gas, and post-nasal drip. Felt awful all day. I went by the plan and stayed compliant on day 2 for the reintro plan. Yesterday, I felt fine. Today, I woke up with effing shingles (confirmed by doctor). I'm wondering if my immune system was compromised by the dairy which caused me to be susceptable to the virus coming back since I had chicken pox when I was little. Thoughts? Anyone experienced anything like this?
Moderators LadyM Posted February 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2015 How's your stress level? I got shingles right about the time I defended my dissertation. From what I've read, stress is the biggest trigger. Not sure if one day of dairy would constitute that kind of stress, but anything is possible. ambnille07
I definitely see stress as a factor, too. I have a two-year-old, work full-time, and started back to school with a challenging online course. Not to mention, I already have anxiety and ADHD. I was just curious if there was a connection, but the stress part definitely makes sense.
