Tiredness?

Sam Sam

Recommended Posts

Hi. So i'm on day 16 of my Whole30. I think i'm doing pretty good. Starting to see and feel the benefits. My only issue is tiredness. I am tired ALL the time. I get about 8 hours sleep each night but i am still waking up tired.

A typical days menu is:

B - Sweet potato hash, coconut oil, spinach and 3 eggs

L - Turkey meatballs or chicken with spinach, tomatoes, cucumber and 1/2 avocado (sometimes a handful of nuts)

D - Green chicken curry with spinach, snow peas, carrots and cauli rice

I have stopped drinking coffee and now only drink water or herbal tea.

Am i doing something wrong or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Do you exercise a lot? You may need to play with your carbs. Try eating more carb dense veggies and see if that helps. It may just take longer for your body to heal or maybe you have some hormonal, adrenal or thyroid issues that could be causing your fatigue. Good Luck!

I haven't felt a huge decrease in my tiredness when I wake up either and I'm at Day 29. I'm blaming the weather/time of year (dark early, crappy depressing weather), cold and flu season and the fact that in the natural world at this time of year we would spend more time sleeping and resting and hibernating.

Check your sleep hygiene and habits against these two articles if you think maybe you aren't getting good enough sleep.

I'm on Day 15 and experiencing the same thing! I even slept 11 hours Saturday night. But Sunday and last night I feel like the last few hours was restless sleep. I'm tired all day and can't stop yawning at work. I'm going to try "Calm" tonight and see if that helps.

Sleeping environment? What is is like? I know that if I don't use earplugs I have a really hard time sleeping. I wake to an ant farting so its very important for me to use the earplugs. The only draw back is someone could come into my house and shot in me in my sleep and I wouldn't even know it. LOL! Also, and I know this sounds cheesy, When there is a full moon I never sleep well, and last night there was a full moon. I hope you find your solution.

Thanks tplummer! I sleep in a dark room with post its over the alarm clock and my digital fan. I am a light sleeper as well. I have to have my fan set to 'White Noise' to block out all the creaks and squeaks of our house. I didn't think about moon phases... you are right. I actually just started eating a potato daily (sweet and regular) and that seemed to help A LOT! I guess I just wasn't eating enough. The Natural Calm might be helping too. I've been drinking that religiously since.
