jennyk8
A little background: I have had hashimoto's thyroiditis for 10+ years now and it is continuing to get worse - my antibodies are immeasurably high. Recently, I had the ELIZA/ACT labs done to test for all three types of delayed reaction sensitivities. I am also currently struggling with low B12, low vitamin D, adrenal fatigue and joint pain. Oh, and I am a military wife with six boys ages 11 - 16 months so life is a little stressful . Tomorrow is day 30 for my second successful whole30 but I haven't yet hit the sweet benefits and symptom reduction phase. I am trying to decide if I should continue on for a whole60 or whole100 or if I should switch over to AIP. I loathe to go AIP because I'm afraid it is going to make family meals a nightmare for me. For the ELIZA test I have to cut major reactions for six months and minor reactions for 3 months but I was not sensitive to any of the AIP no-no's. Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and had advice, encouragement etc.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted February 3, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2015 I'm not in your particular boat so my thoughts aren't based in experience of that. However....30 days is a mere drop in the bucket of life, especially when you are up against an autoimmune illness as well as adrenal fatigue and what sounds like it could be pernicious anemia. If I were you......I would keep going. Your healing body doesn't know that you've got 30 "x" marks on a calendar and you could be done now..it knows that it's struggling to heal and it needs every single day that you can spend giving it solid nutrients, good and restorative rest and the love and compassion it needs to do its work. Coffeeandshoes
I am fixing to do AIP and I am not looking forward to it. I think if you make meals in bulk? and use a crockpot? you could probably do it. I have seen some amazing results with AIP. And usually it takes people 3-6 months of doing AIP. But that said, it can take 6 months to get the results of gluten out of your diet. So you might want to give it a few more months? Are you taking supplements like Selenium that might help lower the numbers? I have hashimotos, not as bad as yours, but still feel like.... and can't lose weight, have done several whole30 and now its time to take it to the next level and give up those tomatoes I love so well.
