Sparkles2
Hey guys, Doing my first whole30 and got to day 7. Then I went on a major binge eating session (think 3000+ calories in a day) Anyway what I ate was loads of dried fruit, dates and nuts. So I binge ate whole30 foods and haven't broken the rules. But do you think I should restart? I'm in two minds about it and not sure what to do.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted February 4, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 4, 2015 Oh, yikes, sorry to hear that, you sound upset about it. Technically no, you do not have to restart. The rules are about compliant foods. You didn't break those rules therefore you did not break your system reset. You may have given your emotional/mental reset a run for its money though and that's where you get to decide about restarting or extending based on how you feel about the situation and your choices. Regardless of if you choose to restart/extend or not, don't let it be in vain, sit down and think about what happened, what led up to it, what you were feeling and try to learn from what occurred. How can you prevent it? Too long between lunch and dinner? Dinner too small? Totally emotional response that you hadn't planned an alternate outlet for? GlennR
Next time, binge eat with a template meal (large portions of protein, vegetables, some good fats, some fruit). No muss, no fuss, no guilt.
Brewer5
and now to sit down and think about why I did it and how to stop it. 1) Lack of proper sleep. 2) Meals not big enough with not enough FAT. 3) Waited too long to eat for one reason or another, which brings us back to #2. Make your meals really big and filling enough to easily last you 4-5 hours. 4) Did I mention fat?

The only thing to add is making sure you eat enough starchy vegetables as well. Personally that is another trigger for me especially when I've been very active.
