hayley52
I am on day 21 of my first Whole30 and am having skin problems for the first time in my life. Starting the Whole30, I had digestive issues. Always diagnosed as "IBS" and more recently "probably Crohn's Disease", my digestion was always having problems. Luckily, doing the Whole30 has already greatly reduced my problems. I am regular for the first time in years and having less discomfort, bloating, all that. BUT I am now having skin problems and I am not sure why! I wouldn't say it is traditional acne, but I have red pumps on my face in random spots and a lot of splotchy patches. My arms also have little red bumps on them. Before the Whole30, I ate generally healthy (not a ton of junk or fast food), but ate a lot of sugar, grains, dairy, etc. Overall I feel muuuuch better in every way three weeks into the Whole30, but am discouraged by the skin stuff. I never had acne, don't have overly dry or oily skin, and am using the same products I was using before. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I am eating more nuts/nut butters than I used to and they are causing it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated Also to note, I am 24 years old, so still young but out of the acne teen stage.

Nuts/Nut Butters could be contributing to the issue and you could try removing them for a week to see if that helps and then try introducing again. I know personally I break out when I clean up my diet but it is short lived. I've never had many issues with acne either. This might just be one of the "it gets worse before it gets better" effects for you and will likely clear itself.
