First Whole30 starts 2/7

Good evening. I am feeling quite excited and empowered to start this journey to a healthier relationship with food, more energy and freedom! I am a mother for four young girls, and am in the "thick" of motherhood. I also work part-time as a pediatric therapist. I have never had a good relationship with food, and since my only sister past 9 months ago... The carb craving has been well out of control. I had originally planned to start on Sunday, but I have prepared myself and my pantry... I am sick of having no energy, so tomorrow it is. I look forward to having a community of folks going through the same challenges, and to find some inspiration.

Hi.  Started today too.  Also got 4 kids too (ages 3-9) but haven't gotten back to work yet.  I'm planning to use this evening to come up with some menu planning and shopping list for Monday.   I'm going into this solo so it can be least disruptive to the family but then hoping that my experience will bring healthier meals for everyone.  I would love my Saturday  night beer right now!!

I too am doing this as the only one in my family...but I have no plans to cook more than one dinner. So, my family is committed from that stand point. I spent much of the weekend cooking and grocery shopping! Saturday night nobody ate what I cooked but me! Sunday and tonight were much better. So far, I have done well though I fell tired. I have overcome a few obstacles that in previous healthy eating attempts, I would have given in. I'm finding other things to occupy my time.. Mostly TV, iPad, and reading in the evening to keep the cravings at bay. How's everyone else doing?

Good for you for spending so much time on the weekend prepping, that definitely makes the week go more smoothly! I'm doing good so far, trying to stay ahead planning meals and trying not to snack in the afternoon or before bed. Mostly I feel like this is going really well! (This is my 3rd time and probably the smoothest start so far).
