Today was day 3 for me. I am nursing my 8 1/2 month old daughter. I am having trouble controlling myself with fruit/dried fruit so need to cut it out tomorrow (especially the dried fruit).

 

Breakfast: broccoli and cauliflower with bacon, baked chicken leg quarter, coffee with ghee and coconut milk

 

Lunch: baked chicken leg quarter, 1 duck egg, too many nuts and raisins, seaweed snax

 

Dinner: 3 chicken apple sausages, broccoli and cauliflower with bacon, strawberries and almond butter

 

Any advice or input is appreciated! This is my first Whole30 and I eat pretty well in general BUT I just eat too much. My issue is quantity, not quality!

Welcome! You may want to add more veggies and more variety to your veggies. Not sure if the dinner veggies were left over from breakfast. You may need to add some starchy veggies like potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, carrots, squash, etc. Make sure you drink 1/2 an oz of water per pound of weight each day. Good Luck!

About eating nuts and nursing... There is no scientific evidence of what I will tell you.... I over indulged in hazelnuts while breast feeding many many years ago, and my son has a deadly allergy to nuts... He is now 24 but even a trace of any nuts in a meal will send him into anaphylactic shock. Be careful...

Thank you both! Yes, the veggies were leftovers - I tend to make a huge batch and eat them for a couple of days. But I will definitely need to add variety.

 

And that is really interesting about the nuts... I have never heard anything about that. Thanks for sharing and I will be careful.

Day 4. Did better with dried fruit, but still would like to decrease overall fruit intake.

 

Breakfast: 2 chicken thighs, cherry tomatoes, coffee with ghee and coconut milk

 

Lunch: 2 chicken thighs, raw zucchini and cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seed oil, banana and almond butter

 

Snack: apple, small primal pac

 

Dinner:  1 chicken thigh, 1 duck egg, 1 chicken egg, banana and almond butter

Day 5, ya'll! Feeling much better today, much less tired. Stuck with decaf coffee this morning. Would like to drop the evening snack, that is definitely more emotional rather than hunger driven.

 

Breakfast: 1 chicken thigh, kale sauteed in bacon fat with bacon and balsamic vinegar, coffee with ghee and coconut milk

 

Lunch: 2 chicken thighs, banana with almond butter, raw carrots

 

Snack: almonds, chicken thigh

 

Dinner: meat bagel, chicken thigh, raw carrots, a few hazelnuts and raisins

 

Snack: banana with almond butter

Day 6 - felt great today!!

 

Breakfast: 2 eggs, broccoli sauteed in bacon fat with bacon, decaf coffee with ghee and coconut milk

 

Lunch: chicken sausage, 1/2 avocado, veggies sauteed in bacon fat with bacon, banana with almond butter

 

Snack: small primal pac, mug of bone broth

 

Dinner: meat bagel, chicken thigh, 1/2 egg, 1/4 avocado, salad

 

Snack: mango with coconut butter
