AmberAIPLowHist
I'm wondering about high pulp orange juice that is just the juice from the orange, not from concentrate. Okay to have? It provides an easy way for me to get in a fruit without having to cut, peel, etc.
GFChris
Fruit juice is only to be used as a sweetener in cooking on a Whole30, not as a beverage. The idea is to chew your fruit vs drink it, as chewing is more satiating.Eat the whole orange.
Moderators LadyM Posted February 9, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2015 Also remember that on this plan you're getting so many powerful nutrients from veggies (and protein and fat) that you don't actually need fruit. So don't feel you must "get in a fruit" unless you so desire.
Carlaccini
Fruit juice is, quite frankly, a sugar bomb. So if you want to get a handle on sugar cravings - don't drink fruit juice. Please also note that juice has been stripped of anything that was part of the fruit. Yes it contains pulp. But do realize that the pulp was stripped out and then added back afterwards. So basically you are loosing any nutritional value that the fruit once hand. Having a glass of juice does not equal having and eating the actual fruit. Like GF Chis says above - just eat the whole orange.
SpunkyBug
I drank a glass of orange juice every morning for about 25 years. Thanks to Whole30, I switched to eating an orange instead. I cut it into eight pieces and it doesn't take long at all. I still eat eggs and lots of veggies first, though!
Tiziana
I'm about to start my second Whole30, (well, my first was a whole90 so, technically this would be the fourth ) Anyway, I know that drinking juice isn't really permitted during the program, but I am on day 3 of a 1 month treatment for a knee injury and my doctor gave me some meds that have to be diluted in OJ (something to do with absorption of the meds). Will this void my whole Whole30 process if I were to start on monday? Should I start it next month? I really don't want to wait any longer. missmary
Will this void my whole Whole30 process if I were to start on monday? Should I start it next month? If your doctor says you must do this, it does not void your whole30, Dr's orders trump whole30 rules.
