cottagequeen
Just ordered this off amazon. http://sonfishsauce.myshopify.com/pages/faq Has anyone tried it? It appears from the info that it is compliant and it is a bit cheaper than Red Boat. Couldn't find an actual ingredients list. Will find out for sure when it comes in. If not compliant, will stick in the back of the cupboard to use later when riding my own bike...
Administrators ladyshanny Posted February 12, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 12, 2015 It does look compliant, I'm excited to hear once you get the actual product! What was the cost difference? Are you shipping to Canada or the US?

Are you shipping to Canada or the US? shipping USA, free prime trial this time. It is an add on item with total of $25 in product from amazon, so buying with other products gives free shipping. 250ml bottle is $9.95. Apparently the only way you can purchase it is with other items. I purchased both Well Fed books. Decided to get prime trial to get 2 day shipping free so I could get them sooner. Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 12, 2015 Which stores will see Red boat fish sauce I have not found it? In stores, I've only found it at Whole Foods. You could always ask your grocery store if they can get it for you, or order it from Amazon.
GlennR
Check out Asian groceries. There are Vietnamese brands that taste exactly like Red Boat (only ingredients are anchovies and sea salt, first press extra virgin), made in the same place as Red Boat, bottled in the same bottles as Red Boat, but cheaper. (I actually suspect they're from the same company, just local and export versions.) The one I have right now is called Hai Ngu. EDIT: Here's an article in which various brands were taste-tested. Not the same company after all. But Hai Ngu compares favorably with Red Boat.

cottagequeen
Well, Lima's Asian grocery store trip was disappointing. Not much compliant there. Got some black fungus, a box of Jasmine tea and some yama, aka yams. Oh well, it is Lima... Kelly, no Kroger in my usually traveled area. Half an hour out of my way.
