nzer
Hi, I am new to the forum and I am on day 14 of the Whole30... I have found this wonderful and feel great, loving the food allowed and feeling creative in cooking. My husband is doing it with me also and I don't think we will go back to the old ways of eating when the 30 days is up... at least not totally. We had a pot luck at my work a week or so ago... when I was on day 4... I took my own food and found I wasn't even tempted by the sweets and other goodies there. I am loving this new way of eating. Last Wednesday I was feeling so fat and bloated and I woke up Thursday and my stomach felt flatter and I felt thinner and no bloating... just amazing... I even went out and ran 2-1/2 at at a 30 sec per mile faster pace than I'd been doing! Love it!! However, I am really mad at myself right now... I just accidentally ate some forbidden food... a Uber bar... one tiny bite. I thought I had read the ingredient list but it was only a list of the nuts and coconut etc. I had taken the one little bite and then happened to fold the wrapper up and saw the ingredient list. I spat out what was in my mouth but had swallowed that one little bite... so, do I start again from day one or do I continue on... I've been so careful in reading labels and can't believe I made this stupid little mistake. At least I didn't eat the whole bar!!!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 14, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 14, 2015 Ultimately the decision about whether to start over or not is up to you. Read this article and see what you think.
greenhm
If it were me, I'd chalk it up to an honest mistake and move on. You have been working really hard and it was a bite (that you even spit out!). I sometimes wonder with these decisions if the stress that it brings on is more dangerous than that little bite you took...just a thought. Keep up the good work !!! nzer
Thank you for your input... the article was very interesting and helpful! I think what I'm going to do is 1. continue on... 2. not eat any more Larabars as I can see how easily they could become a sweets substitute... and 3. make it a Whole44! I was planning on continuing beyond the 30 anyway as I love the foods we've been eating and I don't really crave anything that is non-compliant. Thanks again!
