This has actually been addressed before -- the easiest way to find information in the for is to google whole30 forum plus your topic, so whole30 forum tiger nuts would get you to past discussions.

Yes, they are allowed as long as there are no other off-plan ingredients with them.

When it sounds too good to be true, I always read the fine print.   Too many snacks are a sign that eventually the snacks will wipe real meals right off the table.

A returning to snacks or trying to find replacement snacks to take the place of old snacks is a very slippery slope to SWYPO-Land.   The SWIPE-O  SWYPO'S are a swapped out version of anything we used to do.  They become our new Faux Foes.

Snacks won't break the old cycles.   It's so important that we eat 3 meals aday without any snacks.  That's how we heal and get a respite from our old ways.

If you open up the bag for a mere serving....who's to say the temptation would be so great to eat the entire bag for a whopping boatload of "delicious sweet taste and texture."

I'm thinking Tiger Nuts are a good "emergency" food for on-the-go folks. Sort of like "approved" Epic bars, olives or other "portable",  compliant foods ?

Not exactly.  Yes they would be compliant but they are also a "snack food" which can lend itself to being overconsumed or mindlessly eaten.

If you are going to have a "snack" with only one of the macros (protein, fat or vegg/carb), we would always recommend to make it either protein or fat.  Our standard recommendation though is to have at least two of them (protein + fat or protein + veggie) for maximum satiation.

Scroll up to MeadowLily's post, that's basically the sum of it.
