iAmNoam
My line of work does not allow me to have normal gaps between the 3 meals. I start working at noon. I eat breakfast at 8am, lunch at around 12am or 1pm, and dinner only at about 9pm. It's that big gap that gives me trouble. I'm a tutor and I move from house to house. Since chewing gums are not allowed - what CAN I do besides chewing mint leaves?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2015 Brush your teeth or use mouthwash are the obvious suggestions. I've heard that people chew on cloves to help as well. Make sure you're drinking enough water every day, sometimes that helps. And don't go too low carb, as that can cause you to go into ketosis, which can have bad breath/weird taste in your mouth as a symptom. A serving of starchy vegetables like sweet potato or winter squash every day should be enough to help with that. I know this topic has been addressed before on the forum, if you google Whole30 forum bad breath, you should find past discussions to see if there are other suggestions. GFChris
Also, with such a big gap between meal 2 and 3, think about taking along an insulated cooler with a mini meal of protein, veg and fat that you could have around 5-6pm, so you're not famished by the time you have meal 3 @ 9pm. iAmNoam
Brushing my teeth is impractical.. The fresh scent doesn't last long which means I will have to brush my teeth in every house I get to.. It doesn't work. And can I do that? Have a mini meal? I thought it's allowed only as pre/post workout meal
GFChris
You can have a mini-meal with the kind of schedule you have. It's not expected that a meal would last you 8-9 hours. We typically recommend creating meals that satiate you for 4-5 hours.
