gothope77
my girlfriend is doing the whole 30 with me. She recently had her blood tested after approximately two weeks of being on the program. Her cholesterol was over 200 for the first time in her life. She has always been a very health conscious, and thin individual. Her cholesterol this time last year was 160. She is 45 years old. This is making her question the addition of Morefat in her diet. Thoughts?
jent103
What were her ratios and individual cholesterol type numbers? Those tell you more than overall cholesterol. Last time I had mine checked I think mine was 212, but my HDL:LDL ratio was good, so my NP was unconcerned.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 18, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 18, 2015 Cholesterol of 200 is fine. The medical profession has been selling pharmaceutical company propaganda for years, but some doctors are finally beginning to appreciate that cholesterol levels are not meaningfully correlated with health outcomes for people who have not had a heart attack already. Please understand, I am not a doctor, just a sarcastic survivor of the greed and misinformation that swirls around cholesterol.
