Carol B
It is MSG free, but has disodium guanylate and inositate it in- does that make it noncompliant?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 22, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 22, 2015 Technically, it is compliant and you can have it on your whole30. It is not necessarily your best option, though. Those two ingredients seem to be one way for manufacturers to hide msg in things, so people who have reactions to msg could have similar reactions to those ingredients. (Here's more about the Whole30 stance on hidden msg: http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/5701-clarification-on-hidden-msg/ )
Carol B
The product is advertised as MSG free, but I wondered about those two ingredients and if they were hiding MSG?! It is so delicious on vegetables. I will try to concoct something similar using the other ingredients listed in it.. and have discovered freshly squeezed lemon juice on veggies is really delicious, too! Thanks for the response! AmyS
Don't forget fat with veggies - drizzle olive oil, roast in oil, etc.
