16/8 fast?

Whole30 does not advocate intermittent fasting, we want folks to be eating three meals per day, large and balanced enough to get them from 4-5 hours of satiety.

Because most folks arrive to Whole30 out of balance in hormones and blood sugar, one of the largest recommendations that we make is to eat the first full meal within 1 hour of waking. This is the best way to start to balance hormones and blood sugar.

Can you do Whole30 and IF at the same time? Sure you can. Would we recommend it? Not for most people. As long as you are eating only Whole30 compliant foods, you are doing a Whole30. The recommendations are there for people to use to achieve optimal results. You are free to do as you wish.

Eat Stop Eat is a weekly 24h fast, not a daily 16:8 fast:feed window.

I'm a longtime IFer, and my feeding window is 1p-9p and it's worked fine for several W30s.

But like ladyshanny pointed out, it's not officially recommended. If you're already adapted to a particular IF protocol, be it ESE, 16:8, 5:2, whatever, there's no reason why you couldn't accommodate a Whole30, however it's probably not a great idea to attempt both systems for the first time at the same time.
