The86Jamie
I'm on day 4 of the whole 30 and I'm wondering if sausage is compliant. I found one that had all compliant ingredients, but then on the whole 30 grocery guide download it says to "avoid or bypass processed meats (like bacon, sausage and deli meats)" But then throughout the whole 30 site there are articles that say bacon is ok IF you find one where all ingredients are compliant. So.... I'm confused.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted February 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2015 If the ingredients are compliant, it is ok. Always check your label, but Applegate and Aidell's have compliant versions. NOT the freezer ones, the refrigerated ones. Many of those company's other offerings are not compliant. Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2015 I like the way you paid close enough attention to be confused! While the chicken apple sausage may be compliant, we would rather that you ate a roasted chicken thigh. I certainly ate some chicken apple sausage in my early Whole30 days because they are convenient and were a new experience. However, ultimately the most basic foods like chicken, fish, beef, etc. are the best choices.
