MamaAsh
I'm on day 4 . I just realized every morning the coconut creamer I've been putting a splash of in my coffee is not whole30. I want to cry! Does this mean I have to start all over?
RuthintheDesert
I have noticed that some people on this forum will say, yes, start over, for every little thing. I am guessing that it depends on your goal. Is your goal to spend 30 days following every tiny detail of a program? Or is your goal to reset your cravings and become aware of the ingredients in your food, and remove things that can cause inflammation? My goal is the latter. I feel that this kind of goal sets me up for success and joy.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted February 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 27, 2015 Hi MamaAsh, it kind of depends on what was in your coconut creamer. Sugar is not such a huge issue but dairy, wheat, soy or carrageenan would be massive gut disruptors and you really need 30 full days to reset your gut. Check out the "Do I Have To Start Over" article linked below and then tell us what you'll do. (PS...since you are only pretty close to the beginning at Day 4, could you just call it a Whole34 and not worry about starting over?)
MamaAsh
RuthintheDesert- defiantly the latter. I have many health concerns I'm wanting to see if I can heal through this new lifestyle. Thank you for the reminder. First 4 days had me feeling a bit emotional And Lady's handy- I will defiantly check the article out! And your point is also valid about making it a Whole34. My motivation these first 4 days has come from the chalkboard in my kitchen that I'm using as a countdown... I wonder if this is just harmful
MamaAsh
Oh and the ingredients: organic coconut milk, dried cane syrup, dipotassium, phosphate, titanium dioxide, xanthate gum
Administrators ladyshanny Posted February 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 27, 2015 Sugar is definitely less of a cause for restart. Put the creamer aside for the rest of the duration and maybe consider using just straight coconut milk. Many people find, once they stop eating sweetened food products, that coconut milk is naturally sweet and suits coffee quite well!
