wolfelore
I'm really nervous about starting this. I'm terrible at sticking to something like this, and this plan has ruled out 90% of what I eat. I'm really picky and I don't eat seafood, so I really hope that I can do this. If anyone would be willing to help me with support, I would really appreciate it! I could definitely use some encouragement!

cinagain
Wolfelore, first of all, start trying to make small changes in what you think. Thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions...something like that. Anyway, saying you're terrible at sticking to something like this just puts that negativity more firmly in your head. Doesn't matter if it's been true in the PAST, now is the time to start changing it. So tell yourself you WILL do this, then do your utmost to make sure it happens. Same with your food. You've said that this will rule out 90% of what you eat, so tell yourself that this is an opportunity to experiment with new foods, new flavors, etc. in an attempt to NOT be quite so picky. I've found a new "love" in several foods since my first W30. I regularly eat kale now, been eating a lot more vegetables, some I've never had before (parsnips, acorn squash, butternut squash), learned to make homemade mayo, some healthy soups, etc. We all get in "food ruts," so W30 is a time to venture out of those ruts. Joanie24
Wholefore, looks like we're starting together on March 1st. I'm a tiny bit nervous but at the same time excited. I've told several friends and loved ones I'm doing it and for the most part they are very supportive. I've always done better with accountability so I'm counting on everyone "keeping an eye on me" :-) I have been doing a lot of research and have been reading It Starts with Food. This book has been a real eye opener. I started out looking for something to help me lose weight but now I see the importance of eliminating all the poisons I've been putting in my body and getting healthy first. Good luck and remember you're not alone in this venture!
