Elleng
I'm already tired of cooking with coconut oil and olive oil isn't the right oil for high heat, so does anyone have any other recommendations for cooking? Thank you!
GFChris
Ghee, clarified butter, lard, tallow and duck fat are among the options.
Elleng
Thanks. I don't know what ghee or clarified butter are, but I assume I can get them at a whole foods store. Thank you!
GFChris
You don't buy clarified butter. You make it from unsalted butter: you cook it and strain out the milk solids. http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2010/03/how-to-clarify-butter-recipe/ Ghee is clarified butter that's cooked longer to deepen the flavor. You can either make this yourself or buy in stores or online.

evaq
One more to add! I use avocado oil for high heat cooking. It has a relatively neutral flavour and it has a high smoke point. Great for sauteeing and stir frying. The only downside is that it is on the pricey side.
AmyS
You might also try refined coconut oil. I can find Spectrum Naturals brand refined coconut oil at my regular grocery store and at the natural foods store, for instance. Refined coconut oil is fine on Whole30 and it has no coconut taste. MeadowLily
Macadamia Nut Oil is my favorite.
Becca Lights The Sky
@evaq I agree that avocado oil is great for really high heat cooking because I think it even says on some of the bottles of Chosen Foods I get at Costco that it can handle up to 500oF and that Virgin Avocado Oil only safely heats up to 400oF and extra virgin olive oil only up to 350oF
