curlyj88
I've just called all the health food stores around me looking for coconut aminos. The last one I called (The Organic Grocer in Surrey BC) told me that they did, but it's a discontinued product and it has been recalled. Has anyone else heard this?? or know why? **Update** Just found this: http://www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/recalls/2012_0626_coconut_aminos.html
Susan W
I use a different brand, but it does get fizzy especially if not refrigerated. It doesn't sound like a health risk, just a little too perky for it's own good.
GLC1968
My store had that info posted during June and July, but they've since received new shipments and are carrying it again. The product has not been discontinued!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 29, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2012 My last bottle of Coconut Aminos was fizzy and I used it all anyway. My current bottle is not fizzy. I could not tell a difference in taste between the two.
curlyj88
UGH.. I guess I have to keep looking then. I ended up getting a hold of a place 30 mins from me that said they had one bottle left and she put it aside for me, but when I got there it was actually "coconut marinade WITH coconut aminos". The actual coconut aminos had been pulled from the shelf and were sitting in the back. I ended up doing the rest of my grocery shopping out that way, but it was still a little frustrating! rustymom
I got lucky and found mine in a small independent "health" food store. It is the brand you mention. I noticed that it says something on the side about bubbles can be reduced by refridgerating. So its in the fridge. No white specs though.
curlyj88
I called 5 more stores in Vancouver today (including Whole Foods) and the only one that had it (a new shipment) was Drive Organics on Commercial Drive. Just in case anyone else has been on the hunt!
Julie Quates
Can someone explain to me what coconut aminos are and the benefits? Thinking about searching them out this weekend.
Adagio
Contact Coconut Secret directly via email if you have any questions or where to buy. They are very helpful and get back to you in a reasonable period of time. http://www.coconutsecret.com/index.html iherb.com sells Coconut Aminos by the gallon. They are out of stock right now, but I think that when they get back in stock, I'll have to break down and buy a gallon. Every time my local stores stock them, they are out a week later.
