Hi everyone!

I'm new to the Whole30 and struggling to find some of the things that I want. Does anyone live in Brisbane, Australia and know somewhere to find grassfed meats? I can find some organic meats at the supermarkets but they're ULTRA expensive (I've still bought some from all the money I've saved not smoking and drinking) and I can't afford to have them for every meal. I don't always have the opportunity to go to the markets on weekends and given that I live quite close to the city and don't drive, I can't just make friends with a local farmer who can help a girl out!

I've read ISWF and understand that if that's all you can manage, just do your best... But I'd really like to fully commit to this life-changing program and that, for me, includes eating the right types of meat. For now I'll just buy what I can and stock up at the markets when I do have the chance, but if anyone knows any places to hit up for meat on the regular, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thank you!

Hayley.

Hi Hayley,

I live in Brisbane. I get most of my meat from the Meat-ting Place, they have a store at paddington. They do some grass fed and also grain fed but all organic.

Not sure how it compares price wise, I'm spending lots on meat at the moment (but actually saving because I'm not buying brekky or lunch).

Good luck with your 30 days.

Michelle

I'm in northern NSW and buy straight from the farm. I think the place I buy from will ship their meat but it's a minimum order of $200. It works out to $10 a kilo which is way cheaper than the store.

If you're interested and have the freezer room their site is http://www.farmgatebeef.net.au/pricing

It says on the website, that they use some grains.

I would head down to woolies on a sunday arvo and get any of the macro stuff on sale. Its apparently grass fed and it's organic! Then just cook it up or chuck it in the freezer. It's a bit of a nanna tip but I also recommend buying the cheap cuts and slow cooking/making stews or casseroles.

Found this on about the whole grass fed thing if that puts your mind at ease about buying from the big two.
