Keaton
I just bought some aidells chicken and apple sausage because I heard it was compliant however, when I looked at the nutritional info it says there are 2g of sugars. So, it's not really compliant right?
GFChris
You would need to look at the ingredients list and ensure every single ingredient is compliant.
Keaton
Ok, so as long as it's not listed in the ingredient list it's fine?
GFChris
Again, all ingredients must be compliant :-)
kirkor
...when I looked at the nutritional info it says there are 2g of sugars. So, it's not really compliant right? Just to expand on what Chris said, many foods have sugar in them (apple, tomato, etc.) which would show up in the nutritional info as a certain amount of grams of sugar, but not the ingredients list (where they can be quite sneaky). Keaton
Thank you both so much!! I didn't realize that just the ingredient list mattered and I will be keeping a copy of those sneaky sugar names too!
AmyS
The version I get at my local supermarket is compliant. The reason we ask you to check individually, though, is that there can be regional differences in ingredients lists, even with national brands.
