Momof4
I am on day 16 and I am still experiencing heartburn and a burning sensation in my stomach. Is this normal and will it eventually go away as long as I stick to the program (which I plan to continue for at least an additional 30 days)? Administrators ladyshanny Posted March 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted March 11, 2015 Heartburn and a burning sensation in your stomach are not typical results of eating whole foods such as protein, fats and veggies. If you would like to give us a rundown on what your normal intake looks like including portions, fluids, timing, sleep, exercise and stress, we can take a look and see if there is anything we can suggest. Other than that, you might want to see your doctor if you are concerned.
Momof4
I will give you a rundown of today. I have definitely experienced the burning stomach today which also feels like hunger. Breakfast- 4 eggs, 1 avocado, half of a chicken breast...I was starving so a little while later I added a sweet potato and a little bit of unsweetened coconut flakes. Lunch- large chicken breast, 3 small sweet potatos, large helping of Brussel sprouts and broccolini, large helping of coconut flakes I realized that my breakfast didn't have enough veggies so I made a bunch for lunch hoping it would help the burning/hungry sensation. Thanks for looking at this!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted March 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted March 11, 2015 OK, so by "burning" you meant hungry, that's a bit of a relief. Veggies are the volume you need to help keep you satisfied for 4-5 hours and you're right, your breakfast didn't have enough. It's good to see you eating starchy veggies but you also need the non starchies at each meal, 1-3 cups of them. How are you feeling after your lunch? Momof4
I felt great and satisfied after I ate lunch but the burning feeling came back after 2 hours. I feel like I have eaten a lot of food and I am still hungry.

If you are legitimately hungry (and it's hard to tell because you say "burning" but up above you said it felt "hungry") then you can eat, preferably a mini meal containing protein, fat and veggies. If you think you have some sort of stomach issue going on, you should probably see a doctor.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted March 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 11, 2015 Coconut might be the culprit. It gives me some stomach discomfort. Try cutting it out completely.
Momof4
Thank you! I will remove the coconut. Sorry I know my info above was a bit confusing. I am really not sure if it's legitimate hunger.
