March 12, 2015 aka Day 1

Motivated to start this today by the spring weather, hints of sun, and frustration of what this winter has delivered in terms of weight gain and overall laziness around making good food choices.

 

Made it through breakfast without much preparation - huge thanks to 7-11 for carrying fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs! Almost convinced myself that dairy should be part of my version of Whole30 when I poured myself a big cup of coffee, but managed to resist and am willing to put off that debate for another day.

 

How did my coworker know that the little tangerine gift on my desk this morning couldn't be more appropriate? Have not and do not plan to share what I'm doing at work - we'll see how long I can get away with not sharing.

 

I may have set myself up for a frustrating road ahead since I am traveling internationally next week and will have very little control over what food choices I will have. I saw a post by someone who was eating a lot of plantains and know that those will be available - will have to do more homework about their suitability in larger-than-normal doses. Fingers crossed for lots of fresh fruit, and maybe some goat meat!

 

Also will be looking for pre-packaged options that I can pack in my suitcase for this trip. This seems very anti-Whole30 to me, but I'm going to have to get creative here...
