Work trip to South Africa

Help! I've just found out I'm off to work in South Africa from this Sunday to Friday. I've been mocked by my husband for stressing about the foods I'm going to eat, but I'm genuinely not sure how to keep up the whole30 with minimal ability to control what the food is cooked in etc.

Anyone on the forum had experience eating in Johannesburg? I'll be staying in a hotel, so assume they can cater for picky guests like myself, and there are some handy tips I've seen for what people take on flights (can you take food through security on international flights)?

Any other tips would be gratefully received!

I know you can pack food in your stowed luggage, but I am completely unaware of the customs practices between the UK and SA. I would suggest looking into customs and then packing maybe some canned foods or jerky in your luggage for the trip. Otherwise I would suggest researching grocery stores or markets around the hotel and try to get some foods there. Request a fridge for your room. Good luck!
