zoom
I love sardines, but am finding all the ones I look at are in one of the oils we should avoid. So far soya oil and sunflower oil does this mean I have to avoid them?
befabdaily
Yup. I have been able to get sardines in pure olive oil in a lot of places. Trader Joe's has good cheap ones, but I've seen lots of other brands too.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 30, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2012 Everything soy related is out. Sunflower is okay with sardines, but you can do better. I check everything in stores occasionally and usually find 10 to 20 percent of sardines are Whole30 compliant - packed in olive oil or water. zoom
Thanks I'll have a look. Don't have a Trader joe in Australia, but I'll keep hunting.
hayleydarling
I'm not sure where abouts you live, zoom, but if you're anywhere near an Aldi they have 2 different brands there - one is Whole30 compliant. I don't remember which it was but I couldn't find any at Woolies or Coles and was pleasantly surprised! Their olives are great, too, if you're into that kinda thing:)
